As we head into May, CCSC is actively preparing for our 43rd Annual Gala on September 25, 2026 at Far East Cafe. We’ve also been out in the community, attending events across San Francisco to share our programs and connect with partners.
This past month, we completed our first Chinatown mural tour and neighborhood cleanup and unveiled our own mural funded by Avenue Greenlight. We are also honored to have received several certificates of recognition, including one from the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.
In May, we celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and continue preparing for the start of our summer camp.
Thank you for all of your support!

CCSC Annual Gala on September 25th

Save the date for CCSC’s 43rd Annual Gala on September 25, 2026 at Far East Cafe in San Francisco. This special evening will bring together supporters, partners and community members to celebrate our work and the impact we have made together.
We will honor past board members Dr. Dennis Chew, Ms. May Ann Wong, Mr. Michael Kay and Mr. William Lee for their lasting contributions. Guests can look forward to great food, entertainment, raffle and more. Further details will be shared soon.
Successful Chinatown Mural Tour

Our Chinatown mural tour and cleanup was a vibrant community event celebrating art, culture and neighborhood pride. We unveiled CCSC’s new mural, Bridge of Hope, funded by Avenue Greenlight, and led a guided tour of murals throughout Chinatown.
The event also included live cultural entertainment and Chinese food, bringing people together in a lively, festive atmosphere. Along the way, we were glad to cross paths with Danny Sauter, who joined briefly and took photos with the group.
OEWD Shout-out for Annual Senior Food Giveaway Event

Thankful for the shout-out from the SF Office of Workforce & Economic Development! We're so glad our culinary students could help our seniors again this year by making them delicious meals. Also grateful that the Mayor and our Supervisor stopped by (among many other supporters).
Honors Received

We are grateful to receive these recognitions from the City and County of San Francisco Board of Supervisors and the Community Employment Day organizers. These acknowledgments reflect the collective efforts of our staff, participants and partners, and reinforce our commitment to serving San Francisco’s diverse communities.

Youth Programs

CCSC’s 2026 Summer Camp for rising 1st through 6th graders runs June 8 through August 7 at our Commercial Street location in San Francisco. Camp takes place Monday through Friday from 9am to 3pm, with early drop-off and aftercare available. Students enjoy weekly field trips, English and math lessons, P.E., art and outdoor activities. Tuition is $120 per week. Sign up by scanning the QR code in the flyer above or go to bit.ly/ccsc-s26.
Support PK-5 Tutoring's GoFundMe!

CCSC’s PK–5 Tutoring Program supports low-income and immigrant children in SF with bilingual tutoring. Our youth admin team, who are a team of passionate high school students looking to make an impact in youth literacy have put together this fundraiser for our tutoring program. There is a significant need for this program in San Francisco; less than one-third of third grade English learners are reading at grade level (The Frisc, March 2023). Every $500 funds a full year of support for a student like Adam, an ESL learner who gained confidence and found his voice through the program. Read more about him and donate here.
Culinary & Hospitality Programs
Wine Class

Our Wine Class has been a wonderful success, bringing participants together to learn and explore wine in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Led by an experienced Napa Valley winemaker, the class has helped attendees build confidence in understanding wine types, regions and tasting techniques, while also creating a fun and social learning experience. We’ve been thrilled to see such strong engagement and enthusiasm from participants throughout the program.
Students at SFO Job Fair

CCSC recently attended a job fair hosted by Flik Hospitality Group at San Francisco International Airport alongside students from our hospitality training programs. During the event, our team supported students as they explored job opportunities, helped them complete applications and provided real-time guidance through the interview process. With this support, students were able to speak directly with employers, practice their interview skills and apply for positions on the spot.

Hospitality Training Coming in the Fall

Our classes in cooking, bartending/barista and hospitality are in progress now and going great! If you or someone you know wants to sign up, we will start a new cohort of classes in the fall. No prior industry experience is necessary. Get more information in the information flyer below.
