FIT Program
Family in Transition (FIT) is a culture & identity program aimed towards AAPI students, but is open to all San Francisco high school students. Through monthly workshops and volunteering opportunities, high school students build confidence and knowledge about different cultures and college & career readiness, and feel a stronger sense of who they are and belonging in the community. Up to $400 stipends available for qualifying students.
Project DIALUP
The Digital Literacy Mentorship (DIALUP Project) in San Francisco’s Chinatown is recruiting youth ages 15–24 to teach basic digital skills to community members from Fall 2025 to Spring 2026. About 16 hours of participation is required. Basic Chinese fluency is preferred, and participants who complete the program receive a new tablet and a $100 gift card (availability based on project funding and program completion). Success Story

Quan Quan is currently a junior in San Francisco State University, majoring in Finance. She first joined the CCSC FIT program in 2018 while enrolled in Abraham Lincoln High School. She was an active participant and always very engaging in our projects and workshops to explore career pathways, practice social skills, job shadowing, financial literacy, and volunteering for major events in Chinatown.
In summer of 2024, she was one of the chosen 8 college students to the cultural and technology exchange expedition group invited back to China for a fully sponsored three-week program. The candidate went through a highly selective process; the final selected group got a very special send-off at City Hall by Mayor Breed and the Chinese Consul General of San Francisco.
We are glad she seized the opportunity when we presented it to her, and proud of her for making it through the competitive process to be selected. She learned to seize opportunities in our FIT program.
“I am truly lucky to be part of the FIT program at CCSC," said Quan Quan, "As it opens many doors for me that I didn't even know existed. CCSC FIT program is an excellent support hub for new immigrant students with limited English proficiency like myself. I was able to participate in different leadership roles in the program. These valuable experiences helped boost my self confidence, and I am able to take initiatives and seize opportunities for myself now."
She said that "CCSC continued to be a resource and encouraged me even after I completed their program. In 2023, under their encouragement and advocacy, I successfully applied and was awarded the esteemed Ascend Foundation Scholarship in Partnership with Synchrony Financial for $10,000. I couldn’t believe it! I would never imagine I would get such a huge scholarship if not for FIT. They truly care for each individual student that comes through this program."

"CCSC has inspired me to reach for my personal goals and find ways to give back to my community. I am forever grateful for the CCSC FIT program and their staff there.”
