Thanks for the shoutout, OEWD!

We’re grateful to the San Francisco Office of Economic and Workforce Development for featuring CCSC in their recent newsletter.

Last month, our culinary students put their training into action by preparing and distributing 200 meals for seniors in Chinatown as part of our annual food giveaway. It was a meaningful opportunity for students to give back while building real-world experience, and for us to connect with older community members who may be more isolated.

We were also honored to have Daniel Lurie, Danny Sauter, and the Director of OEWD join us in attendance, showing strong support for the community and for programs like ours.

In addition to providing meals, we shared important information on how to avoid scams that commonly target Chinese seniors, including the “blessing scam.” Through simple, practical guidance, we aimed to help seniors recognize warning signs and protect themselves.

We appreciate OEWD’s continued support and recognition of this work. Partnerships like this help us reach more people and strengthen our community.
