Success Stories

Marteka practicing making drinks during the Bartending Training Class with CCSC

Mateka N. Oliver came to CCSC during the pandemic when she had limited work hours in her job in hospitality. Our BTC drew her attention as she had already worked as a Cashier at her friend’s bar, where she worked part-time. She became interested in learning detailed information about common alcoholic beverages, like those sold at the bar she used to work at.

By taking our BTC, she went beyond basic knowledge of alcoholic beverages to being able to create over 100 cocktails! She successfully obtained a full-time job as a Bartender with JWB Hospitality AMP Entertainment LLC in Oakland, making use of the knowledge and practice she gained from our training. On busy weekends during holiday season, she’s even raked in $1000to $3000 a night!
