Success Story

Under the assistance of the Western chef, Jie Feng is polishing his knife skills at the CCSC kitchen.

Mr. Cen Jie Feng is a student from our 76th cycle of the Chinese Cooking Class. After immigrating to the United State in 2019, he worked as an Inventory Mover. A few months later, he got laid off due to the pandemic. Without being able to work, Jie Feng decided to take advantage of the difficult times and apply for our culinary class. Considering his English proficiency, he ultimately decided to join Chinese Cooking Class, where he learned to cook various Chinese dishes.

Upon completion of the class, there was a hiring event at At&T park for Bon Appetit. Our staff brought Jie Feng as well as their fellow classmates and helped with the necessary interpretations. Jie Feng successfully passed his first interview, but discovered a skills test as a part of his second interview. With this in mind, he reached out to our staff, where we connected him with our Western Chef to help practice his kitchen skills as well as his English terminology for two weeks.

He was officially hired at Bon Appetit as a chef. Jie Feng expressed happiness in his new job with a pay that was higher than what he had expected.
