Families in Transition (FIT) is a non-profit, youth-led program which provides low-income immigrant youths who have limited English proficiency with opportunities to enhance their personal and academic development. The program functions as the linking bridge between the immigrant youths and the community as we assist and guide the students to succeed in school, to adjust to a new culture, and to give back to their community.
Each month, the FIT students partake in English language clinic, leadership workshop, and volunteer activities. Ultimately, we hope to inspire and shape the youths into becoming the knowledgeable role models and the community leaders.
During the last school year, more than 30 students from Abraham Lincoln High School benefited from their participation in our program.
